My story
I followed in my parents' footsteps and started out as a public school classroom teacher, later becoming a principal. At age 37 I made the switch to financial planning, growing a successful practice which I sold in 2016 to run for Congress. That campaign, though unsuccessful, renewed my commitment to helping others put their Democratic values to work in their own lives.
As a new firm, Andy Millard Advisory leverages the ever-evolving landscape of socially-responsible investment options, giving clients the opportunity to express their ideals through their portfolio. What's more, the latest financial technology allows us to streamline the client experience while managing multiple portfolios efficiently, freeing me up to use my extensive experience to help clients make smart decisions and grow their assets.
I've seen a lot over the years, but what I'm really excited about is how—working together—we might use these new tools for your benefit while building a better world for future generations.

ESG Investing:
A way to put your money where your values are.
ESG investing typically assesses the factors listed below. It allows you to invest in funds that consider environmental, social, and governance issues. You may hear the term used interchangeably with "socially responsible investing (SRI)" and "sustainable investing."
Environmental
Conservation & protection of the natural environment
|
Social
Relationships with employees, suppliers, clients & communities
|
Governance
Standards for company leadership, risk control & shareholder rights
|
Even though ESG investing is a relatively new strategy, hundreds of mutual funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) utilize its principles to some extent or other. Like all strategies, there are some limitations and special considerations, which Andy will be glad to discuss with you. Depending on your specific situation, you might want to explore the possibility of incorporating ESG investing into your investment portfolio.
