My Story

I followed in my parents' footsteps and started out as a public school classroom teacher, later becoming a principal. At age 37 I made the switch to financial planning, growing a successful practice which I sold in 2016 to run for Congress. That campaign, though unsuccessful, renewed my commitment to helping others put their Democratic values to work in their own lives.

Andy Millard Advisory leverages the ever-evolving landscape of socially-responsible investment options, giving clients the opportunity to express their ideals through their portfolio. What's more, the latest financial technology allows us to streamline the client experience while managing multiple portfolios efficiently, freeing me up to use my extensive experience to help clients make smart decisions and grow their assets.

I've seen a lot over the years, but what I'm really excited about is how—working together—we might use these new tools for your benefit while building a better world for future generations.

How Andy helps clients invest

For clients who want someone to manage their investments for them, Andy will design, build, and maintain a balanced portfolio. He does NOT take possession of your assets. All accounts are held at a third-party custodian such as Charles Schwab. You grant Andy access to manage the account(s) on your behalf and in your best interest. You can withdraw access at any time. You can keep up with the portfolio both online and through an app on your phone, and you'll receive regular statements.
Environmental
Social
Governance
Depending on your specific situation, you might want to explore the possibility of incorporating ESG investing into your portfolio. "ESG" stands for environmental, social, and governance. In a nutshell, this approach tries to avoid investing in companies deemed to have a negative impact in those three areas, and favors companies that try to make the world cleaner, kinder, more diverse, and more sustainable. Like all strategies, there are some limitations and special considerations, which Andy will be glad to discuss with you.
What's this gonna cost?
Cost is a major consideration in portfolio management. Hidden expenses can eat away at your nest egg without your even knowing it. That's why Andy will talk with you about all the costs involved in your portfolio, and why his fee is significantly lower than the national average.*
